The thread didn't go "off topic", the "hijacker" was reporting on errors with Amara's Windows installer that COULD BE RESPONSIBLE FOR THE PROBLEMS YOU ARE EXPERIENCING. If you had ANY understanding of Python, you would have realised this.
Sometimes you really need to slow down and learn something before you can continue with what you want to do. YOU ARE AT ONE OF THOSE POINTS. Insisting that people continue to help you debug the installation & operation of various XML modules just so you can build yet another RSS aggregator isn't really going to net you a whole lot of responses. If you're after real-time responses to your problems, usenet _isn't_ the place and you really should just follow at least ONE piece of advice you given and find a more appropriate forum.
