Except that we're not all professionals. There are a large number of hobbyists who use Python and this list. At any rate, my suggestion was not to forswear gentle corrections toward better list behavior, (emphasis on gentle) but to address the case where one would be tempted to "fight fire with fire", and answer a potshot with another potshot.
