The point why Ruby was started (perceived deficit of object-orientation) has been remedied since Python 2.2. However, Ruby has reproduced quite a few of those well-known problems of other languages that Python deliberately avoids (such as e.g. deficit of orthogonality) and that make reading and understanding code difficult, besides introducing sources for potential bugs.
