R. David Murray added the comment: 3.5 doesn't exist yet. Neither pip nor ez_setup are part of the python standard library. 3.4 *does* ship a version of pip for ease of initial installation, but since you are saying you are failing to install pip itself, it doesn't sound like you are testing the 3.4 release candidate.
