Hi Justin,

You're correct, it doesn't make sense. We hope to extend more and more
settings to atom/bond-level properties in PyMOL. We also plan on
improving the settings' interactions and documentation. You're welcome
to post this to PyMOL's open-source bug tracker if you like.
