Hello everyone,

I was wondering if there are plans to support python 3 for PyLucene. I know there is an experimental Python 3 version of JCC but it is from 2010 I think, so a bit outdated. We would like to migrate from python 2.7 to 3.0 but we need PyLucene to work for that. Any information on this matter, like perhaps a roadmap?, would be appreciated.

Two things need to happen:
  - the python 3 port of JCC needs to be revived (patches are welcome)
  - the Lucene team needs to vote on releases for another release of
    PyLucene to actually happen.

I prepared a PyLucene release candaidate for version 4.10.4 on March 10th and called for a release vote then.

Only one PyLucene user responded and _no_ Lucene PMC members (besides myself) voted on it. Without votes, no PyLucene releases can happen.

As it is, the project is dormant for lack of interest.

Andi..

Johan
