You can also enable the Puppetlabs yum repo. For CentOS 5 look here, http://yum.puppetlabs.com/el/5/products/. I have a brief writeup on how to build Puppet RPMs, and also have a link to download the 2.6.9 RPM which is the same as the one in that repo.
