Steve,

That's good to know, since I'm not totally up to date myself for reasons beyond my control. Thanks for letting us know, as I probably would a been pulling my hair out otherwise.

this has probably been covered. but when ever I move tracks after opening a

I just did a class with icy music on navigation and pointed out some things to
a instructor named Kevin Reeves. He repeated the problems on his computer and
system. They seem like bugs from what we discussed and may need to be fixed.
Specifically with selecting and deselecting tracks within flow tools and then
the use of mouse down and up to move tracks. I am using the latest Apple OS
Catalina, the latest flo tools and the latest ProTools application. I challenge
anybody on the list to go and try to move tracks with the mouse down and up key
commands and voiceover and see what happens. I even used a session template and
imported the window settings. Not sure what is going on, I still may be making
some sort of mistake. Kevin seem to think I was not and should be sending a
message to Slau.

Thanks everybody for your help, will continue to try to work on it.

What pro tools version are you running? I'm pretty sure the collapsed
indication with voiceover on the button was only implemented in 2020.3 so if
your on an older version that may be why voiceover doesn't say it.

The key command combination to expand the windows is not announcing anything
when I press it, is this normal? When I navigate to the bottom of the mix
window and click on the tracks list show/hide button there is no indication of
it being collapsed, shown or hidden. This seems strange to me when you tell me
collapsed is what I might hear. and when I click on that button the tracklist
moves deep within the tracks. When I click the tracks high/Show button again
the tracklist will be located closer to the bottom of the mix window. I will
continue to try things, but this doesn’t seem to work. I am not sure if my
windows are expanding, because when I press the flow tools Key combination,
command, option, shift, Z, it does not seem to announce anything. Flow tools
seems to be working completely fine for me in all other areas.

Hi Steve,
At this point, I'd also make sure that both your Edit and Mix windows are
maximized. Flo Tools will do that with Command Option Shift z.
I think I know what might be going on here. Make sure that the Tracks list is
actually showing. There was a time when the only way you could see the track
list was if it was actually visible on screen. These days, VoiceOver sees it no
matter what. And since it's technically not on screen, if you click with the
mouse, it's quite possible that you'll be clicking on an insert rather than in
the list. So, go to the bottom of the Mix window and VO left until you get to
the Tracks List Show/Hide button. If it says it's collapsed, there's your
problem. Make sure it's expanded. Give that a shot and let me know if that was
the case. If not, I'd be pretty surprised but let's take it from here first.

Slau and everybody,
I have checked those settings, I have even reset all my voiceover settings
since I customize a lot of things for one-handed use. Almost lost my left arm
during combat Operations in Iraq while serving with the US ARMY. Reason why I
am blind. Anyway, I will try to troubleshoot this some more, but something
fishy is occurring when I do the mouse down. One thing I’m noticing is, when I
do the mouse down it goes to this plug-in menu. After I do the mouse up it
seems to be on the keyboard focus. In the tracklist Very confusing and
frustrating.

Hi Steve,
It certainly seems like it's the mouse pointer not following the VoiceOver cursor. Go to
the Navigation category of VoiceOver Utility and make sure "Follows VoiceOver
Cursor" is selected for the Mouse Pointer pop-up. Let's see if that was the only
issue.

Slau,
I am still having trouble for some reason. I feel like it might be a voice over
cursor problem and the location of the mouse pointer.
I navigate to the track list and interact with it and move onto the track name
in the right column.
When I do the mouse down command, it opens up the plug-in menu, which is not at
all where I thought my focus was.
I have tried to bring the voiceover cursor to the keyboard focus and a few
other things, with no luck. What may be the problem if anybody has and idea?
Thanks,
Steve

Hi Steve,
Move to the track name in the right column of the Tracks List.
Press VO Shift Command Space Bar to perform a mouse down action.
Navigate with VoiceOver to the track above which you'd like to drop the dragged
track.
Press the same keyboard shortcut, VO Shift Command Space Bar, to issue the
mouse up action.
Keep in mind that, if no tracks were selected, the track upon which you issued
the mouse down action will become selected. If, however, you had multiple
tracks selected, the drab would result in all of the selected tracks being
dragged into position above the drop point.

hello,
I understand this may have been covered before, but I was wondering how to
rearrange or move tracks for organizational purposes. What is the procedure to
move a track? if I were sighted, I would just click and drag but that is not
possible for me ha ha. I vaguely remember how to do this with the keyboard
commands. any help would be greatly appreciated.
