Linux hackers should get involved with Martus.
The Martus Project provides technology tools to assist the human rights sector 
collect, safeguard, organize and disseminate information about human rights violations.
It is, as far as I can tell, basically encryption software, and open sourced, but, to 
date only a windows release is available for download.
I e-mailed the project director and he agrees that a Linux version is in order, and 
that, in fact, they have gotten it to work under linux, but have not developed a 
stable release for linux or unix.  He welcomes support from the open source community.
