Hi and thanks for that... but..
i am not using X (gnome or kde) so do not use these gui interfaces.
i have started using wvdial in the console environment.  So these instructions may not 
work for me.
do you know how i can set wvdial to automatically get the nameservers?

When you configure your network via NETWORK in the redhat menu, you have
a checkbox "Automatically obtain DNS information from provider".
I think this is what you need. It works for me.
If uncheck, it will normally take the DNS on the DNS tab entry.
