Well, whoever would classify any Intel Pentium as i686, would be totally incorrect. i586 == Pentium i686 == Pentium Pro, Pentium II, Pentium III, Pentium IV A machine capable of running an i586 compiled kernel is what is required, as we ship only i586 and higher kernels now. -- Mike A.
