redhat.newaol.com is booting me off no matter how many retries. I'm using ncftp. I guess that server finally hit it's limit of users?

Since I have an RHN basic subscription, I also tried downloading the CD's off RHN. Am I right in thinking you are supposed to do this with a browser download? It doesn't look as if I can subscribe to the Redhat 8 channel -- maybe I'm missing something here.

I did most of CD #1 using a browser download off RHN, however Mozilla dropped the connection when it was 98% done. Mozilla saved the CD with this filename:

Psyche-i386-disc1.iso

Wow! That IS a fast mirror. I'm getting 510KB/s with my DSL
connection. I think that's approaching my top speed.

Now that I've got your attention...

AOL has a mirror which is always lightening fast no matter how advertised it seems to get.

Every time someone asks... send them there. ;o)

I've just been playing with the mirror to see how fast it is. You
*must* remember to set passive off or the connection will drop without
any explanation.

I also saw regular connection refused although a few retries usually
does succeed in a connection. After that, I saw a transfer rate of
about 175KBs to my home cable modem connection. FWIW, AOL blocks pings
to the server, but a ping to their router averages about 45ms - pretty
darn decent!
