Very nice mirror... I haven't been able to even get into most other mirrors, and the one I did, I was getting a paltry 2-5k/s (over cable). Now I'm getting around 200k/s from the AOL mirror.

Btw, I'm using passive mode ftp without any issues (2 CDs completed so far). But then I'm doing the download on a Mac OS X machine with a download manager, so who knows...

Now that I've got your attention...

AOL has a mirror which is always lightening fast no matter how
advertised it seems to get.

ftp://redhat.newaol.com

Every time someone asks... send them there. ;o)
I've just been playing with the mirror to see how fast it is. You
*must* remember to set passive off or the connection will drop without
any explanation.

I also saw regular connection refused although a few retries usually
does succeed in a connection. After that, I saw a transfer rate of
about 175KBs to my home cable modem connection. FWIW, AOL blocks pings
to the server, but a ping to their router averages about 45ms - pretty
darn decent!
