I think you need to change the filename from "ALA_20230711" to "ALA_20230711.txt"

I would try importing the data using the wizard if something like this happened to me.

So, I placed the data that was supposed to be on that directory, closed PSPP, opened it again, and the error message continued showing up. I did that several times.  I even ran a different code on a different data set and the same error message showed up.  These are the first four files in the directory called  E:\GNU_PSPP\PSPPDetailTxtDataFiles
