Yes I know, thank goodness! The SPSS equivalent has kept me from suicide a few 
times.
The file does get rather big and afaik there is no time/date indication. But I 
was just curious if the option exists - don't file this as a request.

A journal of all syntax executed is automatically generated in your home 
directory
in a file called "pspp.jnl"  - or did you mean something else?
