I click on Data and on Select Cases. I'm assuming I want to use a filter variable and would put SEX into the box to the right of use filter variable. But then what? When I click on OK I don't see any indication that it has selected out the males. If I run a frequency distribution for SEX I still get both males and females. SPSS will put a line through the row number for the cases that have been filtered out but PSPP doesn't. Thanks.
It works for me. Which version of PSPP are you running? Perhaps you are running an old version. What I do is: 1. Data|Select Cases 2. Then I put the "sex" variable in the box labeled "Use Filter Variable" 3. Then click OK and you will see in the data sheet that all the males (or females if your coding is the other way around) have a diagonal line on the column header button. J' -- Avoid eavesdropping.
