The client's runtimes will only tell you what the last version was used to run the files. (We have a vertical niche app that's been in production for 20 years. Some of the PRGs still show signs of FoxBase/dBASE code.)
PJX/SCX files have timestamps. I'll bet they have a version flag in there, too -- that's what's causing the converter to launch. You have the converter source code (it's in the xSource.zip file). At worst, you can read through that to determine what it's looking for. If you're seeing the converter, I'm pretty sure you're dealing with FoxPro 2.6 code or earlier.
