Well, totally sucks, I know. I never do my builds/recompile all from the pm any more. I always write some code, called from a project menu that I also write that takes care of builds, backups etc... For your project I guess you'll feel better if you write something that will save off all your code to some standard dbf before the builds. Have you tried a text search utility to see if it's hiding somewhere unexpected? (I know you already answered this, but I figure a redundant suggestion is better than none at all.)
