To follow up and to comment on Kevin's comments.... Mobility is good. There are times when I go away for a "vacation". I have access to an extremely nice place in the NC mountains. I just throw the Vonage modem in a glad bag along with a couple of cables and a wireless phone. When someone calls they have no idea where I am.
I suspect an automated caller is one that wants to sell you a new mortgage, insurance or other junk. I have never received those type of calls. Maybe that is a problem with Vonage - from what I know, the number is never listed anywhere. I post my number on my web site - that is about all. So, when the business number rings it is a client or prospective. The other day I had to work on the router and simply forwarded the business calls to a personal land line. Works like Kevin's simultaneous ring. I also have the missed calls emailed to me. Check their features - they are not shabby - maybe the biggest deal is to call a good chunk of the world for the same price I currently have. My only complaint is I cannot broadcast my identity. So I show up as "Durham, NC" for caller id. But, Kevin - keep us posted on the Google Voice / Skype / Cell Phone combo.
