Hi Pete (just how annoying is that introduction!!!),
Let's get down to the basics here. You are about as good at programming and
systems as I would be at acupuncture - i.e. clueless, apart from knowing
what a prick is.

Having both seen your attempts at programming and tried to help you in the
past with actual coding along with all your "attempts" to both configure and
use IT equipment, personally I would stick to trying to get elected - oops
you didn't succeed in that either did you.

Like musicians being born not made, some people are born to understand IT -
you are most certainly NOT.

I don't mean to be derogatory here, merely to point out that you are in fact
wasting your time along with many other peoples time in your quest to become
an IT technician. For once in your life accept this fact and just get other
more able people to do the IT work for you, but don't expect them to do it
for nothing.

The analogy with you is that is that yes, anyone can lay one brick which
would suggest that they could build a house - but imagine the state of the
finished object without the builder being aware of any architectural basics,
building principles, building skills or law. And, to cap it all - would you
want to live in that house? No thank you.

You constantly mouth off about the evil Satan without any substantiated
cause and now that you have discovered "open source" suddenly this new world
is full of "crap". Maybe, just maybe you have what we call a PICNIC problem,

(P)roblem (I)n (C)hair (N)ot (I)n (C)omputer

Have a mid life change and start to do what you are actually good at - I
assume whining about your lack of success in virtually EVERYTHING is not the
only thing you are good at, instead of trying to be good at IT - definitely
not you even by your own admission.

GET OFF YOUR ARSE AND DO SOMETHING ABOUT YOUR LOT IN LIFE INSTEAD OF BLAMING
EVERYONE ELSE FOR YOUR FAILURES.

There are a great number of people here on the list that have tried to help
and give you advice and still will, myself included, as long as you make
your requests both logical and relevant to your skill set which would seem
to be "zero" at present.

In a word, get real and smell the coffee as opposed to expecting everyone
else to clean up, or more recently do your "tasks" without you contributing
anything. There is no such thing as a free lunch - understand that.

Paul, Ed and the rest of the guys have produced a product that is in my mind
excellent - but it is made for IT professionals to use, not computer virgins
and I think it is totally unfair for you to criticize their work and expect
them to dig you out of the mire in order to make you look good in the eyes
of others. Their time as well as others is given freely and you are simply
wasting it.

Yes, you have read the Python book, but your comment about there being "no
Dabo" in it simply highlights your lack of credibility to be able to handle
any systems development or programming task whatsoever. I would also guess
that even having read the "book" whatever that is you still couldn't write a
"hello world" in Python unaided. How many years has it been looking at VFP?
Could you produce a simple form with a button, grid and associated data on?
What does that tell you about your skill set?

I've said my piece now and hopefully you will take it constructively - but I
won't hold my breath. If you continue to stumble along in the way you have,
asking stupid questions then don't be surprised if the fellow profoxers on
the list totally ignore you.

Do us all a favour and depart to OT where you can indulge yourself to the
hilt with your racist homophobic banter with others who are interested (god
knows why) and respond and for heaven's sake leave us here in peace.

Finally, as I have hinted at before, you, being of east asian descent and
origin should realize the hurt that prejudice and vitriolic attacks against
others who are different to you can produce.

You have different features, different skin tone but is this any different
to a different sexual orientation or different moral standards? The one
common factor with everyone though is that they all have feelings, a fact
that you have not grasped despite your middle age. If you concentrated on
understanding this fact as opposed to your feeble attempt at IT and that was
all that you had learnt during your life, then at least you could say that
you had been successful at something.

As it is, at least you have consistently lived up to you own lack of
application and ambition, but few would class that as success.

Do yourself a favour, stop making yourself look completely stupid and set
some realistic targets in life which you CAN achieve.

Hi Michael!

Well, back to dabo: Have YOU installed it? I read the python book,
interesting, but not anything about dabo in it. I have another python
book on order.

I also viewed all the dabo videos, dabo really does look promising, if I
could just get it to work I could start experimenting with my simplified
app. Also, Ed and Paul are both amazingly good on camera.

If I can get "Hello World" to work in dabo I will be able to do the
project as it is now conceived, much simplified from what I showed you
in FoxPro years ago. But before "Hello World" I have to get dabo to work.
