Rick:  How are you doing?  That is exactly what my desktop was doing 
with 7.10.  It would leave the computer in a suspended state.  When I 
went to turn it on the next day, I had to turn it off first.  I am sure 
that is what my laptop is doing.  There is no indication of it though.

I will just move to 8.10 and be done with it.

If it weren't for VFP and Quickbooks, I would be using Ubuntu 100% of 
the time.

My 2009 desktop is dual boot Vista and Ubuntu 8.10.  I have a major 
customer rolling out Vista this quarter.
