Paul: Like I said, I don't understand exactly what they are doing, but apparently the mail is going through port 25 on the mail server, but I am sending SMTP to another port to get to the server. Cox won't allow me to use my SMTP on port 25. It's Cox's SMTP or not at all.
Apparently Cox blocks 3rd party relaying which is what I am doing by using my email server and not Cox's. My ISP set up another port for 3rd party relaying. That is how it was explained to me.
