I've seen players that support MPEG4 (aka XVID/DIVX) but I don't own one. I think they're common these days. BTW, AVI & MKV are both 'container' formats. There are 1000s of codecs (audio & video) that they can contain, including MPEG4. Nothing is going to support them all. > Basically, I'm looking for a DVD player that can play computer-based DVDs. > I'm not talking about computer files converted to DVD format, but rather > about (the equivalent of) DVD backup disks. I have an old P3 laptop attached to my TV for this reason. It sometimes struggles with high resolution files though. -- Paul _______________________________________________ Post Messages to: [email protected] Subscription Maintenance: http://leafe.com/mailman/listinfo/profox OT-free version of this list: http://leafe.com/mailman/listinfo/profoxtech Searchable Archive: http://leafe.com/archives/search/profox This message: http://leafe.com/archives/byMID/profox/[email protected] ** All postings, unless explicitly stated otherwise, are the opinions of the author, and do not constitute legal or medical advice.
