Foxpro itself already locks the exe. It is in fact refox that breaks in and then offers a second lock to prevent itself from breaking in. problem is there is, I seem to remember a simple change of one hex code that will make that useless as well. So its not as simple as you make out. And web app's are secure why ? or was that a joke too :) Allen
-----Original Message----- There is not a lock manufactured that's not breakable. You still lock your house when you leave, even though picking a house lock is pretty trivial, don't you? You still lock your car even though every police cruiser carries a bar that will pop open the locks? ReFox and their ilk are the same. They're a latch on the door that discourages the tempted, but won't stop a serious professional. Every developer has to evaluate their user and customer base and decide what level of discouragement is worth it for them. Other layers of security, like requiring a registration key, encrypting the data, hardware keys are worth considering. Yet another reason to prefer web apps <s>.... _______________________________________________ Post Messages to: ProFox@leafe.com Subscription Maintenance: http://leafe.com/mailman/listinfo/profox OT-free version of this list: http://leafe.com/mailman/listinfo/profoxtech Searchable Archive: http://leafe.com/archives/search/profox This message: http://leafe.com/archives/byMID/profox/[EMAIL PROTECTED] ** All postings, unless explicitly stated otherwise, are the opinions of the author, and do not constitute legal or medical advice.
