Foxpro itself already locks the exe. It is in fact refox that breaks in and
then offers a second lock to prevent itself from breaking in. problem is
there is, I seem to remember a simple change of one hex code that will make
that useless as well. So its not as simple as you make out.
And web app's are secure why ? or was that a joke too :)

There is not a lock manufactured that's not breakable. You still lock
your house when you leave, even though picking a house lock is pretty
trivial, don't you? You still lock your car even though every police
cruiser carries a bar that will pop open the locks?

ReFox and their ilk are the same. They're a latch on the door that
discourages the tempted, but won't stop a serious professional. Every
developer has to evaluate their user and customer base and decide what
level of discouragement is worth it for them. Other layers of
security, like requiring a registration key, encrypting the data,
hardware keys are worth considering.

Yet another reason to prefer web apps <s>....
