The code that's been published will be free in perpetuity, as it is
licensed under the GPL v 2.0. However, that doesn't insure that the
authors may decide to release later versions under a more restrictive
license. However, community updates and improvements to the current
code (now beta 0.2x) will also have to be licensed and available under
the GPL as well.

Note that the current download page says that the OpenDHT storage is
offline, which makes the system inoperable.
