I'm a 5 year member of the NRA. I received many call from the NRA calling for contributions in which fear and smear tactics were used against Hillary Clinton. The NRA solicitor always claimed that Hillary Clinton had to be stopped, because she would work against the 2nd amendment right of gun owners. It didn't discourage me from support Hillary, though, but it did rub me the wrong way regarding NRA fund raising tactics and political involvement. The right, (eg law), to own and bear arms for personal protection and laws holding irresponsibility, reckless or unlawful use of handguns is not mutually exclusive.
