-------------------------------------------- Bacon! No I think it was really to get into Peters head that Gentiles could be allowed into the church, or at that time, "believe in Christ". You had the disciples going out and spreading the word and some when out and spoke to non Jewish people who believed. So this was Gods way of telling Peter that a newer set of rules were to be followed. Jesus is the Messiah and he brings a new world order to all who will listen and believe. This must have been a huge hurdle for them to cross. Their whole life the teachings of the Jewish traditions were all about them, the chosen people and the lineages to the familys before them. Why you could not marry someone out of your clan because that brought shame unto Israel and its people were enslaved. But now it's fine to bring in the pagans and eat the foods that a couple of years ago were forbidden? Those must have been very interesting conversations. Heck just taking in Saul and he is now calling himself a disciple "Paul"? That must have caused a lot of friction. -- Stephen Russell Sr. Production Systems Programmer Mimeo.com Memphis TN 901.246-0159 --- StripMime Report -- processed MIME parts --- multipart/alternative text/plain (text body -- kept) text/html --- _______________________________________________ Post Messages to: [email protected] Subscription Maintenance: http://leafe.com/mailman/listinfo/profox OT-free version of this list: http://leafe.com/mailman/listinfo/profoxtech Searchable Archive: http://leafe.com/archives/search/profox This message: http://leafe.com/archives/byMID/profox/[EMAIL PROTECTED] ** All postings, unless explicitly stated otherwise, are the opinions of the author, and do not constitute legal or medical advice.
