The article is a back of the envelope calculation done by a guy with an ivy league engineering degree who has not taken the time to figure out what it really takes to melt a glacier. I have a more complete answer to Madigan, but here I'll just say that the author doesn't know what he's talking about. He has made simplifying assumptions that don't hold up.
