The first version I worked on was 2 which used CDXs and the impression I had is that they were new in v2.0. I think the third parameter came in in VFP 3 or even VFP 5, I'm sure it wasn't in 2.6. I can remember it coming in - I just can't remember exactly when <g>. A lot of people continued to use the earlier syntax even after the third parameter was available out of habit.
