I won't be able to let you read about this without getting the email list to sign an non-disclosure agreement <eg> If you are copying a disk image that has custom drivers installed, and restoring it to a VM that has different (virtual) hardware installed, you could run into issues. I have not. It might be wise to replace drivers that you expect will not be available in the VM (such as a custom video driver) with generic drivers (like SVGA) before making the switch. Smarter OSes should be able to detect that the hardware has changed and accomodate the change gracefully. Clumsy OSes may not work as well. And DRM-encumbered OSes may start screaming "Help! I've been stolen!!!"
