In short form, I would:

0. Boot from a Linux LiveCD such as Knoppix
1. Shrink the Linux partition as much as possible
2. Make a backup of #1 onto an external HDD to avoid WXP overwriting
"by accident."
3. Create a new partition for WXP and install it there.
4. Reboot from the LiveCD to resize partitions and reestablish the
desired boot sequence.
