what's Belgian... 😊

Having said that, I've done Zoom calls with my tech savvy client there. When he 
picks CSV as the output type in Excel, it uses semi-colons and no double quotes 
in the resulting file. Change the regional settings in Windows to US, commas 
and double quotes come out.

Writing a validator class is probably the best way to go and thanks to everyone 
for adding their tips and tricks. As always, ProFox is the place to hang out.

Those were the days. Files came from a mf and those guys lived in a different 
universe.
I ended up writing a proc. which examined the complete file and rejected for 
the slighted non compliance with my guidelines.
They quickly learned.
btw there is NO Belgian version of cvs files.
