Stephen - as for Breaking things. You are jumping to conclusions - and AssUMing
that I am making changes directly to a Live system. In fact, I make changes and
test on a Test version of the system. Then, if I feel the changes work (the
automatic switching over to the DR Server upon startup) - then I make the same
changes to a QA System - and a QA Person must test it. If they confirm its good
- THEN I need to apply the changes to Production system.

And - again - at this point I am ONLY Concentrating on switching between
servers upon Startup of the App.

-K-

This is why DBAs hate developers who blindly attack stuff without investigating
what is really happening.

Here is a spot to get an ebook/pdf on what is happening.

http://it-ebooks.info/search/?q=SQL+High+Avalibility&type=title

You can pick the version your are going against for your download.

BTW this is pretty serious and if you break it, it becomes a real bitch to
reset everything and have it be working properly. Because it is a Friday you
may have already screwed the pooch and the ops guys now have a lot of work
getting it backup and working properly. Only know because I have had this
happen to me before.
