Thanks, guys!
It was indeed a printer driver. Switching to another printer got both
programs working, and was able to show the user that a 3rd party program
(Adobe Acrobat) wouldn't print to the bad printer either. Now it's the
sweet, sweet smell of "someone else's problem."
