I believe it is gibberish (sp?) - like a zip file. In a good dbf file, I would expect to see some field names.

When I try to compare it to a good, working table with the same name in a different folder, it is not at all comparable. The directory seems ok. All the file names are exactly what should be in that folder. There are good files in that folder. It is almost like something targeted these specific files (about 50% of the files in that folder)

Having a backup of the file is a good place to start before doing this.

Modify the file: MODIFY FILE M6PTP1.DBF

Does it look like a regular DBF header, or more like a ZIP file?
