We have used Webfaction for about 8 years. I was referred to them by
someone on this list. We have many web sites with them. I think we pay
about $10/month for 100gb storage. They changed us to a different server
a couple of times which required us to redirect our DNS server. Other
than that, our time with them has been uneventful. Our bank charges us
$.19 per month for the currency conversion.

Interesting. I have been using them for my ISP for many years. They
support long processes and host many DJango sites and much more. They
have tons of software available, their support and documentation is
excellent, and they cost me $7.95 per month.
They haven't changed their name in 10 years that I know of. I hope
you're talking about the same company. When I have had questions I
get a prompt call back from someone in England. And unless you are
developing for something than Windows, it's not them because they
don't do Windows.
If you are, it is very possible to have a fantastic company that
doesn't treat their contractors or employees well. Seen that before!

This company changes names a lot, or it appears to be a company that
is on
record for never paying devs and you get a notice on 2 week day. They
never pay you for the 2 weeks of work you did either. Or so others have
been saying in another list I monitor.
