Reposting from the Boston Ruby list. For background, Massachusetts passed a last-minute change to a transportation bill that charges 6.25% tax on software services rendered in Massachusetts. Despite huge inconsistencies in what is and isn't taxable and how it applies to outside firms doing business in Mass, the tax took effect almost immediately. Local tech firms are sponsoring a one-day "phone your rep" for Massachusetts tech people to voice their concerns to their Congress-people. Here's Brian's post:
