When not holding public office, he has acted as a lobbyist, representing various special interest. He fit the mold of the neoconservatives that were so prevalent in the George W. Bush Administration. He plays to the interest of the religious right; because, he has been well instructed in his studies of political science, about the importance of using religion to further political agendas.
