Hi Everyone, PC anyone? Why not charge the punk with elder abuse? It doesn't help that in Florida a juvenile can have 50 felony *convictions* before he serves the first day in any kind of confinement.

Hattie Yvonne Branch told police that a 14-year-old boy riding her bus would regularly shout profanities at her, threaten to break her jaw and gesture with his elbow as if to strike her. The 70-year-old Polk school bus attendant said her job was to "keep the peace on the bus," and the boy would bully her on a daily basis, according to a transcript. "I don't have any problem with nobody but him," she said. On June 2, police say Branch went into a rage and beat the boy -- pulling his hair, hitting him and biting his back twice. Prosecutors recently released recorded surveillance footage on the bus showing the encounter between Branch and the boy. The bus was parked and loading up with passengers. Investigative reports say the 14-year-old boy was horsing around and tossed a 5-year-old boy over a bus seat. The 5-year-old boy's feet accidentally struck Branch, reports state. Branch told police she thought the 14-year-old boy intended for the younger boy's feet to hit her, and she began to defend herself when it appeared to her that the boy had his "deuces up." She said she recalled biting the boy's back but didn't remember putting him in a "full nelson" wrestling hold. The bus driver, Charlene Wimes, can be heard on the video yelling for Branch to stop and let the boy go. "I hate it's happened," Branch told police. "I really do ... But he had set fear in me, 'cause he was always threatening me and every time he passed by me he tried to hit me in the face. And walk off and laugh." Branch said the boy was transferred to her bus for disciplinary problems, and she had written him up at least four times. The boy was taken off the bus, and he reported the confrontation and showed the bite marks to a school resource officer. Branch was arrested July 8 and was released the next day from jail on $10,000 bail, records show. Branch faces a charge of child abuse. A trial date has not been set. -- Regards, Pete http://pete-theisen.com/ http://elect-pete-theisen.com/ _______________________________________________ Post Messages to: ProFox@leafe.com Subscription Maintenance: http://leafe.com/mailman/listinfo/profox OT-free version of this list: http://leafe.com/mailman/listinfo/profoxtech Searchable Archive: http://leafe.com/archives/search/profox This message: http://leafe.com/archives/byMID/profox/4e97096e.5070...@verizon.net ** All postings, unless explicitly stated otherwise, are the opinions of the author, and do not constitute legal or medical advice.
