Thanks, Mike. I appreciate the followup. RK ________________________________________ From: profoxtech-boun...@leafe.com [profoxtech-boun...@leafe.com] On Behalf Of Mike Copeland [m...@ggisoft.com] Sent: Friday, October 07, 2011 5:48 PM To: profoxt...@leafe.com Subject: Re: developer research
All joking aside, given the area and assuming that you get someone who already knows how to make VFP do what it should/can and do it right/well....and also assuming you're wanting them full time and full commitment, I think you're in the correct ballpark with 60 to 70K. I meant to reply back this morning but those pesky clients got in the way... Good point about the location. We're in Allston, MA which is just on the edge of Boston. Relocation will definitely be a requirement. (Sorry, Lou...) I'm just trying to get a ballpark idea of where the market is so I can go back to my boss and say this is the going rate. I do realize that there really aren't any "junior" VFP developers to be had and frankly someone who needs significant mentoring in VFP wouldn't be my top choice. IIRC the one listing I saw an actual salary shown was in the 60-70K range. I don't know how realistic 6 figures is but I'm certainly not expecting to get someone with the appropriate skills for a song& a dance. -- rk -----Original Message----- From: profoxtech-boun...@leafe.com [mailto:profoxtech-boun...@leafe.com] On Behalf Of MB Software Solutions, LLC Sent: Thursday, October 06, 2011 5:37 PM To: profoxt...@leafe.com Subject: Re: developer research On 10/6/2011 5:22 PM, Mike Copeland wrote: > I'm thinking 6-figures, yeah, at least. That of course depends on experience and most definitely LOCATION. A dev in NYC makes so much more than the same dev in Florida, for example.
