hi michael thanks for that clue about fetching the total pages in the our filter
we were using the key com.apple.print.PrintSettings.PMTotalSidesImaged..n. to get the total pages - hence it was correct when sent from the Print Dialog. so is there a way to get the total pages in a job At the Start of our filter??? we see in the log that cgpdftoraster does know in advance - D [01/Oct/2015:15:12:11 -0700] [Job 518] cgpdftoraster: "/private/var/spool/cups/d00518-001" has 2 pages. is there a way to get that value from the cgpdftoraster ? thanks for any help on this. steve On Oct 1, 2015, at 10:14:16 AM, Michael Sweet <[email protected]> wrote: > There is nothing that would cause this behavior - the main thing is that > command-line and drag-n-drop queues will not have PDE options, which > sometimes causes problems for third-party drivers that (incorrectly) depend > on them. > > >> On Sep 30, 2015, at 6:52 PM, [email protected] wrote: >> >> hi all - >> hi michael sweet - >> >> we've discovered that if we were to print a pdf document that has n-pages - >> if we use the lp/lpr command - it seems to send out n-separate 1-page job >> this behavior seems to be the same if we dragged the pdf icon into the >> printer queue >> >> however, when we use the mac os preview.app and go thru the print dialog >> it wlll send the doc as a SINGLE Job with n-pages >> >> is there something in the lp/lpr command line that we can make it do the same >> ie send out a PDF doc job as ONE job with n-pages >> >> the reason for this is if our printer has 6x8 media >> we want to print page size = 4x6 >> our cups printer driver will take two 4x6 pages and make it a 6x8 and the >> printer has the ability >> to cut that 6x8 print into two 4x6s >> >> any help would be greatly appreciated!! >> >> thanks >> _______________________________________________ >> Do not post admin requests to the list.
