the client considers the mail sent, when his MUA will close the "send" window. This means client will complain if it takes time between hitting the "send" and accepting mail by the server.
This can be slow if you scan mail for spam/viruses while receiving e.g. via milters, so I better scan client-submitted mail via post-queue filter.
