There is a postfix server (v3.4.13) with a multi instance (master.cf): #service type private unpriv chroot wakeup maxproc command 127.0.0.1:30004 inet n - n - - smtpd The master instance can send email to anywhere on the internet but the multi instance has name resolution issues: telnet localhost 30004 Trying 127.0.0.1... Connected to localhost.localdomain. Escape character is '^]'. 220 postfix-myhostname ESMTP helo test 250 postfix-myhostname mail from: sen...@address.fqdn 250 2.1.0 Ok rcpt to: recipi...@address.fqdn 451 4.3.0 <recipi...@address.fqdn>: Temporary lookup failure quit 221 2.0.0 Bye Connection closed by foreign host. I have also put this into /var/spool/postfix-multi-foobar/etc from /etc host.conf hosts localtime nsswitch.conf resolv.conf services ssl Still there's no name resolution in the multi instance. Any help is appreciated. jsjr
