Forwarding already delivered emails

Hi,

There was an issue with my mail server yesterday and it stopped 
forwarding emails. There are many emails that have been delivered to 
/var/mail/$user. Is there a way I can inject them back into postfix, or 
forward them to an external email address like this never happened? Kind
