we're about to use Spamassassin in our postfix mail system. For that reason
we "copied" our mail system to a virtual machine in order to see how
Spamassassin is configured correctly.

After we enabled Spamassassin we're facing the problem that the virtual
table is evaluated a second time after the mail re-entered the mail system
when processed by Spamassassin.

or anything that runs as post-queue mail filter and then submits message back to postfix, without special precautions, e.g. by avoiding second alias expansion by using
-o receive_override_options=no_address_mappings

Myself I had problems with double-signing mail with DKIM.

My solution was to use Spamassassin as milter instead of a post-queue
content filter. I recommend this to everyone.

if customers complain that sending of message takes too long, you can configure milter when receiving mail from servers on port 25, and use post-queue filter when receiving mail via submission on port 465/587 (services submission and smtps/submissions).
