And what is the value of smtpd_sasl_path ?
I have
smtpd_sasl_path = private/auth
in main.cf, and in Dovecot config I have
service auth {
unix_listener /var/spool/postfix/private/auth {
group = postfix
mode = 0660
user = postfix
}
}
(I guess the "service auth" block around the listener definition is
important; you did not have one in the configuration shown in your mail)
