Just a follow-up to correct a couple of things in case anyone is reading this

main.cf includes:

virtual_mailbox_domains = pjb.cc
virtual_mailbox_maps = hash:/usr/local/etc/postfix/vmailbox
virtual_alias_maps = hash:/usr/local/etc/postfix/virtual
vmailbox:
ml-postfix-us...@pjb.cc off-to-lmtp
virtual contains:
mb170...@pjb.cc ml-postfix-us...@pjb.cc
# +LOTS of others
The Dovecot users file includes:
ml-postfix-us...@pjb.cc:,<passwordstuff>:10043:10000::/var/vhome/%n
# +LOTS of others
All working as expected.
