offhand, is that generally needed/beneficial for google.com MXs?

Last I heard the Google MX host policy is not quite that capricious,
but messages over IPv6 are expected to tick more checklist boxes,
by e.g. having DKIM signatures, and perhaps other "best practice"
markers of being a "mainstream" MTA.

once I realized that _I_ hadn't asked the question ... but borrowed the answer
from another thread, I found what appears to be the (a?) relevant, 2014 thread:

in my case here, postfix generally checks most of the usual suspect checklist
boxes. DANE deployment is still a bit intermittent here, but don't think it's
on those 'checklists' ... yet.

as to whether @google has improved sufficiently since 2014 to warrant getting
rid of this, dunno yet.
