Yes, this was expected to work. For the record, this does hide the recipient extension from the dovecot delivery agent, and so precludes automatic sorting of messages into non-default "folders" based on the extension. If you ever decide you want dovecot to act on the address extension, you'll need to undo these changes, and to figure out how to get dovecot to accept user+extension and do the right thing with that. While I do use Dovecot as my IMAP server, I still use virtual(8) as the delivery agent, and haven't looked into the configuration of Dovecot's native delivery agents. Perhaps a question for the Dovecot list, if not adequately covered in the docs. -- Viktor.
