I’m the port maintainer for FreeBSD.  It should be updated as soon as we fix 
this minor release kerfuffle.  Other than the rc.d script, you should be able 
to grab the configure args used by the port (which builds against libspf2) and 
stuff it in to the existing port (which will set the appropriate sane defaults 
for —prefix and the like).

None of the patches in the current version of the port should be required.
